Liebeserklärung

Entfaltung: vom Digitalen ins Analoge. Mein eigener Font «Cold Cut» mit den markanten Serifen ist Ausgangspunkt für den Auftrag «eine Liebeserklärung an die Typografie». Durch das Experimentieren mit verschiedenen Materialien wie Holz, Plastik, Draht, Styropor, Karton und Papier brachte ich die digitale Schrift ins Analoge. Bei «Liebeserklärung» dachte ich an verschiedene Liebessymbole, zum Beispiel an den Edelstein am Finger oder die Schmetterlinge im Bauch. Das Endresultat lässt beide Optionen zu — oder gar eine neue?

Declaration of Love

Unfolding: from digital to analog. My own font “Cold Cut”, with its distinctive serifs, served as the starting point for the assignment: “a declaration of love to typography”. By experimenting with various materials such as wood, plastic, wire, polystyrene, cardboard and paper, I brought the digital font into the analog. For the concept of a “declaration of love”, I thought of the various symbols of love, for example a gemstone on a finger or the butterflies in the stomach. The final result allows both options – or perhaps a new one?
